There's really only a few things you need to understand.
Your domain is the name people type into their browser to find you, such as yourbusiness.com.au.
A domain is registered for a period of time and renewed when it expires. A typical Australian domain is often around $20–$40 per year, depending on the domain and provider.
Your domain is the address, but your website needs somewhere to live. Web hosting is the server where your website files are stored.
Simple websites don't normally need expensive hosting. We can provide hosting for you, or you can use your own provider.
This is the pages, text, images, menus and other features that make up your website.
That's the part you're paying me to design and build.
A simple website can often sit happily online for a long time, but domains and hosting need to stay active and software may need updating.
Maintenance is optional. If you'd rather not worry about the technical side, I can take care of it.

DON'T HAVE EVERYTHING READY?
Ideally, we'll need things like your business name, logo, photos, contact details and some information about what you do. But you don't need to have it all worked out before you contact us.
We'll help you work out what belongs on your website and how it should be organised.
